I found out on Friday that I am hired as a R.A.(resident advisor) for next year, after going through a half year of selection process. I feel truly flattered and grateful after going to the meeting today, the staff
is just decent and down to earth! I am assigned to a program of my preference and will be living in a real nice building, which is very very lucky of me ~^.^~, because most people don't get what they asked for. Sorry Ray...I love you =)and we'll both be saving about $10,000 a year ;)
I realized from the beginning that being an RA will be very challenging; it requires a lot of time, efforts, and both good personal and interpersonal skills. However, I also know that being an R.A. is very rewarding. I will develop or learn better personal/interpersonal skills, which is crucial to the success of one's life. These skills should aid me down the road no matter where I go or what job I take on. This opportunity is a gift to my last year of college life, I will be meeting a lot of people and learning many things.
I am looking forward to the busy but enriching life already!
This quarter has been one of the roughest and most stressful times of my life; things just weren't going well for me until these past couple of weeks. I've never experienced the ups and downs of life so distinctly/vividly before, and I am now grateful of all of it! Because I learned some valuable lessons that I don't think I'll ever learn without actually going through this rough period. Life does not always treat one well, but I do believe anything that happens to me serves a purpose. Although I might not always know what it is until afterwards,
especially this quarter, but I for sure have grown from the experience. As said in a Japanese drama, one should view the downs in life as a "long vacation" granted to him/her. It is easy for me to say, but when things weren't really going as smoothly as they could have, try to step back and maybe one's able to see the big
picture better and have clearer understandings of the things occurred. It is then possible for one to realize the purpose behind all the fuss, and I think it is how you gain wisdom. =p
I wish everyone a very safe and happy journey in life!
